The 22 of March of 1909 was born in Santiago de los Caballeros the most outstanding Dominican troubadour. From very young his virtues of singer and composer arose in him.
When as of 1927 the Trio Borinquen (or Trio Quisqueya) began to make its recordings with Dominican subjects, the pieces of Bienvenido Troncoso Allá en el edén, Ansias locas, Las notas de mi lira, A Natalia , and Pálida como un lirio were gathered in those anthological recordings.
In 1929 Bienvenido Troncoso integrated in El Grupo Dominicano, that in the city of New York recorded for the RCA Victor. In most of the Troncoso subjects he did the second voice to Eduardo Brito and he accompanied the guitar to him. Mi llegada a Macorís, Ingrata, Yo no creí, El triunfo, Tu desdén and other titles of the responsibility of Bienvenido Troncoso appear in those registries.
Throughout the years, his compositions have been listened to in the most important voices of the country, among them, those of Francis Santana and Licinio Valerio, the Cuarteto Marcano, the Trio Añoranzas, the Dúo Capacetti-Torres and the anthological duo of Victor Victor with Francis Santana.
The excellent guitarist, composer and second voice, made tours in the United States, Cuba and Puerto Rico and bequeathed an extensive catalogue to us of representative pieces of Caribbean music.
First of December of 1961 passed away in the city of Santo Domingo the troubadour Bienvenido Troncoso.
