born in the city of Santo Domingo, the 26 of November of
1957. He took his first music classes from professor
Caridad Cabral in the Elementary School of Music; after
finishing this period, he entered the National
Conservatory, where he attended the matters of Harmony,
Composition, Pedagogía, Orquestración and Piano.
Like composer of pop music, Tejada wrote his first pieces
in 1978 and he got be to known with his song "Juventud".
Manuel Tejada is an experienced musicalizador of
advertising campaigns, in addition to an excellent
orquestador, that have worked at international level with
figures of the spectacle, like Sophi, Awilda and many
others, as well as with the most popular Dominican
singers; among them, Omar Franco, Olga Lara, Jacqueline
Estévez, Taty Salas, Vickiana, Niní Cáffaro, Anthony Ríos
and several musical groups.
Tejada is a cultor of the fusion of the Caribbean rhythms
and in his songs he combines sorts and own styles of our
islands, which allows him to create new elements, Tejada
reached the First Prize of XXVII the International
Festival of the Song of Vinña del Mar, in Chile, in 1986,
with his song Para quererte, with lyrics from José
Antonio Rodríguez and wich was interpreted in that
occasion by Maridalia Hernández.
