Pusan Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see
Club House, Pusan Country Club.

Club House, Pusan Country Club.
Pusan is the second-largest city in South Korea. It is a big industrial port with almost 4 million inhabitants. It is not a very attractive city, but there are a few nice beaches nearby. More importantly Pusan is also the departure point for Cheju island.

Take in the view from Pusan Tower in Yongdusan Park and visit the Yi Sun-shin statue, the fish market (best seen 6-7 am) the U.N. Cemetery (where fallen U.N. soldiers from the Korean War are buried) and the Municipal Museum.

If you see only 2 temples in Korea, make this one of them, the other is Golgusa Temple. This temple is unique as it is literally right on the ocean. It is reccomended that any visit is between Monday and Friday, locals turn out in mass over the weekend.

Take Bus 8 from Haeundae Subway. The driver will advise where to get off. From the bus stop it is approximately a 1km walk to the temple. On entry there is a number of food stalls and souvenir shops.

The temple is stretched out along the rocky beach and cliffs. There is a good representation of the more..

This Cemetery is the resting place for over 2000 soldiers who perished in the Korean War from 1950-53. Pusan was the major city of South Korea not invaded by the night. It honours the 16 countries who were part of the UN Force defending South Korea.

Beomeosa Temple
Edit This

A Buddhist Temple only a mile or so from Pusan, yet totally secluded in the mountains. It is a very good example of a Korean temple.

Take the subway to Beomeosa station. From there it is cheaper and easier to take a taxi, rather than a bus.

The temple is approximately 1500 years old, although it has been destroyed a number of times by Japanese invaders or fire. Each time it has been faithfully rebuilt.

If you only travel to Pusan then this is a must see.

Ensure you visit the Dragon Temple and Golgusa if possible.
