It is said that a woman was built up in the walls of the monastary, because only that way the monastery wouldn't fall down. If you want you can visit Vidraru Barrage, built on Arges river, in Fagaras Mountains. It is one of the most imortant in the country, and many cities depend on it, but it also offers great views . Stately mountains, shy water falls and green trees, almost all year long. Transfagarasanul is the highest road in Romania and it reaches almost 2000 m above the sea level. They leave to Pitesti every half an hour and they usually leave from the Central Train Station (Gara de Nord). The distance from Bucharest to Pitesti is of only 110 km. If you travel by car - just follow the signs. You can go to a lot of monasteries, museums, natural reservations and mountains. There are nice places in the mountaines, not very far from Pitesti (50km - 100km). _______Museums Edit This There is a museum in Pitesti, but you can visit more important ones, like Bran Castle, which is a museum and it's known as Dracula's Castel (~130km).
