The Christ Church Cathedral, for example, is part of the Christ Church College complex and Hertford college is the place to head for when you want to see the famous Bridge of Sighs. The impressive Radcliffe Camera, used as a reading room these days, can be seen as the centre point from which one can easily explore the colleges and museums, all concentrated in a not so vast area. This is a great thing, because most attractions will be conveniently located near your Oxford hotel and quite easy to reach on foot. Pubs are open all day and there is singing from the top of Magdalen College Tower as 5am in the morning by the choir of young boys. They sing "madrigals" whatever they are. Quite nice. Bit surreal after a night of drinking too. Students in dinner jackets and ball gowns then tend to throw themselves into the river off Magdalen Bridge. Also quite surreal.
