Orlando Florida Estados unidos

Orlando Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see

Orlando may be called the super tourism capital of the world: A great climate, more attractions than any other place, fantastic possibilities to go out at night, wonderful activities during daytime. Orlando is a great place to go with your family.

Theme parks are the most common reason for visitors to come to Orlando. Disney World is great. Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, its newest adventure park, is filled with the natural drama of life in the wild. Epcot is a two-part educational and cultural attraction designed to challenge the mind and satisfy the senses. Disney-MGM Studios allows visitors to see Disney animators creating wonderful characters and explains movie-making on an entertaining backlot tour.

Universal Studios Florida shares the movie-making theme of Disney-MGM Studios, but attractions are presented quite differently here.

At Universal, promoters say you can "ride the movies." Universal's newest park is Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, where there are "real" roller coasters. Awesome park.

Visitors to Orlando will want to explore natural attractions as well as fantastical ones, and SeaWorld is a wonderful place to start.

For those with not enough stamina to endure a theme park, Orlando offers more relaxing attractions. Orlando has a very nice science museum and the city's art museum is also impressive. Since NASA is not far away, a some families may want to take a break away from the bustle of the theme parks and see the rocket garden in the morning and then spend the afternoon relaxing on a nearby beach, like Cocoa.

Dinner attractions are very popular in the Orlando area and also center around themes, whether of an era or an ethnicity. Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Kissimmee allows you to cheer a knight to victory. Disney's Pleasure Island celebrates New Year's Eve every night with laser lights and dancing in the streets. Church Street Station in downtown Orlando is a nighttime smorgasbord of activities and eateries, hosting a variety of different clubs and restaurants. Last call for alcohol is 2 a.m. Universal Studios CityWalk is a colossal 30-acre entertainment mecca, where themed restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, live entertainment, and shopping abound.

Shopping areas in Orlando have as much variety as the local attractions. Souvenirs of your adventures, for both yourself and your friends back home are easy to find. Outlet centers and factory stores abound here and offer some of the best bargains in town. Shopping areas in Orlando and Kissimmee are also popular for their fun environments, such as at Pointe*Orlando, Disney Village Market Place or Old Town in Kissimmee.

________Practical Information in Orlando

Demographics

Orlando, Florida is 67.3 sq. miles and 4.7 sq. miles of this are bodies of water. It is the largest inland city in Florida. The Central Florida city has a population of roughly 213,00 residents and 52% is composed of female inhabitants. The average age of people in Orlando is 33 years-old. The yearly income per household is approximately $35,000.

Climate

The climate in Orlando is humid subtropical. The average temperature high for the city is a stifling 92 degrees. The average low is 49 degrees. There is a hot and rainy season that last from June through September, which is around the same time as hurricane season. Planning a vacation during this time shouldn't be a huge problem as long as you keep an eye on the weather the week before you go. You will be able to tell if Orlando might be in the path of the oncoming storm. The months of October through April tend to be more dry and cooler, well as cool as Florida weather gets.

Expenses

As a traveler you should expect to spend a moderate amount of money on things such as souvenirs, food, and hotels. Although, if you are purchasing these items in theme park areas, then expect to pay more than the average price. If you buy a fast-food meal in a theme park area, even outside the actual park itself, it will more than likely be several dollars more. For instance, a chicken sandwich meal at the McDonald's in Downtown Disney will cost around $9, which is about $3 more than off-site McDonald's.
Safety

Orlando is ranked the 18th highest crime city in the nation. While some of the city is safe for tourist there are sections that are dangerous and should be avoided if possible. Part of your vacation might involve a trip to the Amway Arena to see an Orlando Magic game or a concert. If this is the case then it is best to know that the area surrounding the arena is home to many homeless individuals. Personally, I have never had an issue with the situation, but it's just reassuring to be made aware of it ahead of time. Also, Paramore Avenue, near the arena, is an area to avoid as well. It is an active place for crime and not a great place for anyone, especially travelers, to be in. However, if you are staying in hotels on or near theme park property, they are mostly crime-free and you can sleep with ease.

____________Nightlife and Entertainment in Orlando

Orlando had a thriving rave scene in the late 1980s and 1990s, but much of it went underground after law enforcement stepped in. Downtown Orlando is still worth visiting.

Downtown Disney and the Universal Studios Citywalk are about an hour away from Orlando proper.
