Mindoro island is an unspoiled island that's within easy reach from Manila. Puerto Galera in east Mindoro is the famous tourist destination with many beach and entertainment facilities.

There are many beaches and small islands nearby with good beaches. The main reason to come here is for snorkelling and diving.

Big Lalaguna Beach

Big Lalaguna Beach

Sabang Beach is a great spot for diving. The area consists of Sabang Beach, Little Lalaguna Beach and Big Lalaguna Beach. Most tourism at Sabang Beach, least at Big Lalaguna Beach. The place is ideal for diving - both for beginners and advanced. Another good beach on Sabang is Puerto Galera, with a plethora of hotels and dive shops.

Sabang beach is very small, and not very pleasant. Tourist development almost to low tide mark! Sea area is full of boats. No good for swimming.

Very lively in the evening with clubs, bars, resturants, and of course kareoke.

Pleanty of tourist and dive shops.

Better beaches found by walking around to Small Laguna, and best at Big Laguna (15 to 20 mins around coast).

Big Laguna has good sand, swimming, and corral for snorkling. Clean friendly establishments on shoreline. Beach vendors usually friendly and none persuasive.

________Bars and Cafes
Edit This

Low season at Sabang Beach....still a lovely place to be.

For a relaxing place to drink, chat to visitors and ex-pats and browse the only "library" in Sabang I recommend Marti`s Bar.

Well decorated and set out, totally clean and user friendly.

Marti, the owner, is always in the bar, is a fund of local knowledge and a very well-travelled man.

Go there and feel so at home.

White Island- Closer look

White Island- Closer look

Charry Lising-Dasovich

White island ( Manadi , Bo. Ilin , San Jose ). Is a 3 acre beach with smooth and powdery white sand. The tranquil and peaceful island is an ideal place for swimming, scuba diving, and fishing. Turtle eggs are occasionally found buried in the sand.

Peaceful place..Not a 5 star but you can see million of stars at night....clean..very private...inexpensive- 150php ($4.00) for cottage and 30php ($1.00 or less) for entrance..bring your own food and drinks..picking corals /shells not allowed. Do not forget to be generous to the caretaker, she is the one that cleans the island and the banka guy...very nice and helpful!

_______Getting There
Edit This

From Manila take the early plane to San Jose, Occ. Mindoro

its about 40 minutes ride by plane. Once your'e there take a tricycle and ask the driver to take you to Pag-Asa by the Barangay Hall and ask when you get there. Every local knows how to get there and who to contact.
