Many people book already transport at Khao San Rd. in Bangkok and do not have to worry about it. If you want to go on your own go from Ekamai station in Sukhumvit road. There are aircon buses on an hourly base going to Trat. Once there, a pickup truck will bring you to Laem Ngop where there ferryboat to Koh Chang is waiting for you.
