Though there're a number of beaches south of the city, the best is Fujiazhuang Beach having sandy beach bordering two scenic parks, Baiyunshan and Xiuyuefeng. Excellent for swimming, but has few facilities. It'll take half-day drive here, but it's worthy. Ask most people where is Boontown or Maple Leaf bar as it is known among some. If that doesn't work, ask for the East Hotel (Dong Fang in chinese) and look directly across the street for a small sign with a maple leaf on it. The only english sign on the row of buildings.
