___________Practical Information
Edit This
The weather in Calgary can be unpredictable due to the Chinook winds. A popular saying among locals is, "If you don't like the weather, wait an hour." Due to the warm chinook winds, pleasant spring weather often occurs in the heart of winter time.

Calgary Transit is fast and efficient, offering both train and bus service, and should be considered as an alternative to driving.

Events in the downtown core ( http://www.downtowncalgary.com) are listed at the Downtown Calgary web site. Various times in the year, you can find a special event or promotion such as Downtown Dining (Feb-March), the Wine Festival, and the Christmas Trail (Dec).

Everyone who goes to Calgary thinks of Cowboys. Say what you will about the place, it's become an icon and attracts all manner of small town folk to see what the big city is like without having to give up their "cowboy" mentality. For the women, if you like cowboys and wannabe cowboys, this is the place to go. For men, look for the female staff of this establishment who are typically sponsored by the bar to be surgically enhanced. During Stampede, it is next to impossible to get into this bar.
