Chief Alternative rockers Cake are back! From the band who brought you smash hits like 'The Distance', Never', and 'Short Skirt, Long Jacket' comes the hot new LP, 'Pressure Chief'. As with all their albums, their latest masterpiece was written and produced at their own home studio in their hometown of Sacramento, California. 'Pressure Chief' is Cake's fifth album and the follow up to 2001's critically acclaimed effort 'Comfort Eagle'. The signature elements of Cake are evident on their fifth album. McCrae's warm baritone backed by his chunking sound acoustic guitar, Vincent Di Fiore trumpet lines, which add an oddly cinematic touch and bassist Gabe Nelson's solidly pulsating superstructure. The songs mostly penned by McCrae wed interesting melodies to strikingly original narratives. Out now, look out for the CD encased in environmentally friendly recycled paper. In tour news, Cake have hit the road in the US to launch the new LP and plan to take their show to the rest of the world over the coming months.
