It has good beaches, beautiful walking tracks and a little inviting island (Sveti Stefan) just down the coast. Although the town was struck seriously by an earthquake in 1979, its old city core from some 2500 years ago, remained fairly intact. Dont't miss it. Don't forget your camera and your sun-block. You'll go from Budva to Tivat by bus. Then you'll go by boat to Herceg Novi. All the way you'll be admiring beautiful views. In Herceg Novi you'll spend about an hour trying to catch with your guide. Herceg Novi is very nice and quite a big place so one hour is not enough time to see it properly. Be prepared to go up and down a lot. Starts to get full at about 1 after midnight (when all the other bars and clubs close). 3 stories , DJs, live acts, approx. 2000 people. Cost is 5 euros entrance, standard prices. We went there in August 2008, to find the pub closed twice when we went to Budva. Did meet a 6ft 6" odd barman alright who looked at us as if we had 3 heads when we asked him were they showing the Kilkenny- Cork hurling semi final. Asked him( from a distance due to the size of him) how they could call themselves an Irish pub. Ridiculous and a farce the way pubs like this are passing as Irish places. Head off to a local bar for a good time, and they might have internet access if you want to check up on Gaa games!
